Imran Baloch (born 1 September 1997) is a Pakistani filmmaker, writer, editor, assistant director, actor, and creative producer from Badin, Sindh. He is the founder of The Magic Film and began his career through independent productions, working across short films, documentary films, music videos, commercials, and digital content. His early work included Siddhartha (2021), in which he served as editor and actor, Zero Point (2021), a documentary short film on which he worked as assistant director and editor, and the music video Ghareeban Ja Khwab (2021), where he served as creative director and co-editor. He later worked as assistant director on the commercial Shabir Tale and on the short film Kun, directed by Noman Khanzada.
His breakthrough came with Busin Ja Dhika (2025), a music video directed for singers Babar Mangi and Amjad Mirani. Developed from an idea conceived during a bus journey, the project used the bus as a symbolic representation of pain, struggle, and everyday life. Produced with a largely inexperienced team, the video received a strong response and helped establish Baloch's identity as a filmmaker. He followed this with several music-video projects, including Sanam Sopari (2025), featuring Marvi Sahib and Muhammad Masood, Nim Ji Chaon (2025), a soundtrack video from Rahul Aijaz's feature film Indus Echoes, Sindhu Waadi (2025), which he produced, and Na Na (2026), continuing his collaboration with Babar Mangi and Amjad Mirani.
Alongside his music-video work, Baloch expanded into narrative filmmaking with Jag Baurana (2025), Himmat (2026), and Alif (2026), all of which he wrote and directed. In 2026, he also co-wrote and directed Batti Gul, a five-episode short drama series. Across his projects, Baloch has maintained a hands-on approach to filmmaking, frequently taking on multiple creative roles including writing, directing, editing, producing, and creative development.
His work is characterized by its focus on regional identity, everyday experiences, and emotionally driven storytelling. Drawing inspiration from Sindh's culture and social realities, his films and music videos often combine visual symbolism with grounded human narratives, contributing to the growing landscape of independent Sindhi cinema.
